flexible multi-dose gnrh antagonist versus long gnrh agonist protocol in poor responders: a randomized controlled trial

Authors
abstract

background: to compare a flexible, multi-dose gnrh antagonist protocol with a long gnrh .agonist protocol in poor respo materials and methods: a randomized clinical trial of 70 poor responder patients (35 patients in gnrh antagonist protocol and 35 patients in long gnrh agonist protocol) was performed at royan institute, tehran, iran. both groups were given a fixed dose of human menopausal gonadotropin hmg) for stimulation and oral contraceptive pre-treatment. data analyzed by student’s group) .t-test or chi square test results: stimulation duration, total gonadotrophins consumption, mean numbers of oocytes retrieved, formed embryos, cycle cancellation rate, and clinical pregnancy rate were similar between both groups. although the miscarriage rate was higher in the agonist protocol group, the rate of .miscarriage was not statistically significant between both gro conclusion: a flexible, multi-dose gnrh antagonist protocol appears as effective as the long gnrh agonist protocol in poor responders. more (larger) randomized controlled trials for better .statistical analysis are recommended

Flexible GnRH antagonist versus flare-up GnRH agonist protocol in poor responders treated by IVF: a randomized controlled trial.

BACKGROUND Although initial studies in poor responders using GnRH antagonists have reported encouraging results, they are limited in number, only a few of them are prospective, while the majority is characterized by limited power to detect a clinically important difference. METHODS A randomized controlled trial was performed in patients with one or more previous failed IVF cycles in which fiv...

Comparison of long GnRH agonist versus GnRH antagonist protocol in poor responders

OBJECTIVE To compare long GnRH agonist with GnRH antagonist protocol in poor responders. MATERIALS AND METHODS Medical charts of 531 poor responder women undergoing in-vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle at Zeynep Kamil Maternity and Children's Hospital, IVF Center were retrospectively analysed. Those who received at least 300 IU/daily gonadotropin and had ≤3 oocytes retrieved were enrolled in th...

Comparisons of GnRH antagonist versus GnRH agonist protocol in poor ovarian responders undergoing IVF.

BACKGROUND In view of the discrepancies about the GnRH antagonist (GnRH-ant) ovarian stimulation protocols having some potential advantages compared with the GnRH agonist (GnRH-a) protocols in poor ovarian responders IVF/ICSI, a meta-analysis of the published data was performed to compare the efficacy of GnRH-ant versus GnRH-a protocols for ovarian stimulation in IVF poor response patients. M...

A Flexible Multidose GnRH Antagonist versus a Microdose Flare-Up GnRH Agonist Combined with a Flexible Multidose GnRH Antagonist Protocol in Poor Responders to IVF

OBJECTIVE To compare the effectiveness of a flexible multidose gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist against the effectiveness of a microdose flare-up GnRH agonist combined with a flexible multidose GnRH antagonist protocol in poor responders to in vitro fertilization (IVF). STUDY DESIGN A retrospective study in Akdeniz University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and ...

Pregnancy outcome of “delayed start” GnRH antagonist protocol versus GnRH antagonist protocol in poor responders: A clinical trial study

BACKGROUND Management of poor-responding patients is still major challenge in assisted reproductive techniques (ART). Delayed-start GnRH antagonist protocol is recommended to these patients, but little is known in this regards. OBJECTIVE The goal of this study was assessment of delayed-start GnRH antagonist protocol in poor responders, and in vitro fertilization (IVF) outcomes. MATERIALS AN...
